Adult Rowing

All of our Adult Rowers continue to stay committed and are seeing great progress this winter as they maintain their routines and work hard to be ready to get back on the water.  Their dedication remains strong and consistent as we get closer to the end of winter training.

We are super excited to support 12 of our female athletes who are heading to sunny Florida at the end of the month to compete at the Sarasota Invitational.  The regatta is 3 days of exciting racing at the beautiful Nathan Benderson Park - one of the best rowing venues in the states.  Please help us send good luck, positive vibes, and safe travels to Coach Madison, Lisa Stickley, Kristi George, Janet Francis, Ann Smith, Sarah Huber, Lauren Weintraut, Sharon BonDurant, Suzanne Stone, Deb Stoll, Liz Kryder-Reid, Suzannah Overholt, and Kristi Thomas, as they head south. Watch social media and the next Boathouse Bulletin for updates on results!

Middle School team putting in the work to stay strong over winter!

Youth Rowing

With the boredom of winter setting in, the High School and Middle School teams continue to work hard to focus on their training and get ready for Spring season.  Coach Sharon had this to say about the Middle Schoolers, "They have been in full swing preparing for their 1k and other fun festivities on March 7th.   They continue to show up consistently and focus each practice on solid stroke mechanics.  They are developing skills in becoming great teammates and accountable team members!"  Great job Middle Schoolers!  The High School team has moved into harder workouts, focusing on sprinting and increased erg scores.  We are especially proud of 4 of our female rowers who traveled to Chicago to compete in USRowing's Indoor National Championship on Feb 7th.  They had very impressive results as you will see below.

Our Junior and Middle School team registrations will be live soon!  Watch the website and social media for details.

Do you have old IRC Gear?

Do you have any old (usable) IRC gear (unis, splash jackets, tshirts, sweatshirts, etcc) laying around that you no longer need?   Do you want that closet space back? please send us a messageif you have IRC gear that we can take off your hands!

How lucky are we to row on this beautiful Eagle Creek. Even when frozen over it is magnificent!  Thawing has begun and we will be back out on these waters soon.

Operations News and Volunteer Opportunities

Coach Marr continues to keep himself busy making improvements to our facilities and course, selling off what is no longer useful to IRC, and preparing for the regatta season ahead.  As you can see in his report below, he's gotten a lot done over the winter.  He could use some volunteers to string buoys and a few other projects if you wouldn't mind taking a look at the list below and seeing where you might be able to help.  He's also included the dates volunteers are needs for our upcoming regatta hosting responsibilities this Spring so everyone can mark their calendars and be ready to pitch-in.
