2017 Junior Fall Season
Fall 2017 Boosters Information
First, let us convey our thanks to all the volunteers for another great regatta. The energy and spirit of the Boosters is remarkable this year - and it shows. All shifts were full and the Sign Up Genius (SUG) was completed as well. Everyone pitched in and had a marvelous time. The rowers did well, in spite of the 90 degree heat. We are so proud of them.
We wanted to remind you about our next away regattas in Columbus, Ohio and Chattanooga, Tennessee (varsity only). Please note that for the Columbus weekend, there is a block of hotel rooms that are reserved for parents, but the rooms will be released on Sept 28. You may wish to reserve online or call today if you still need a room. Please see below for more details.
10/28 - 10/29/2017 Blake Haxton Fall Invitational Regatta and Speakmon Memorial Regatta, Columbus, OH
There are two regattas in Columbus, Ohio: the Blake Haxton Fall Invitational Regatta and the Speakmon Memorial Regatta. The whole team will participate in the Blake Haxton Fall Invitational Regatta on Saturday, October 28. A bus will bring the novice team home on Saturday. The varsity team will also participate in the Speakmon Memorial Regatta on Sunday, October 29. We have made a reservation for the varsity team at a hotel convenient to both regattas. There is also a block of rooms available for parents at the same hotel. The deadline for parent reservations is September 28. Book your group rate for Indianapolis Rowing Parents.
Departure Time: 10/28/2017, 5:00 am
Departure Location: Riviera Club
In addition, the Varsity team will participate in the Head of the Hooch regatta in Chattanooga in early November.
11/3/2017-11/5/2017 Head of the Hooch, Chattanooga, TN (Varsity only)
There is no parent hotel room block for this event (not possible). It is a popular regatta so please try to secure a room in the area as soon as you can.
We are hoping to have an informal gathering of the Boosters in the coming weeks to brainstorm about ways to improve what we do and learn more about the sport of rowing. More about this coming soon.
On another note, we hope you will consider taking a leadership role in the Boosters Club. At this time, leadership is voluntary and not elected. Ed and Marion will rotate off the board after the spring season. It will be so helpful to have folks who have been working along side us consider this so they know how to run the Boosters and our activities. Please contact Marion if you have any interest in a leadership role.
Don't forget to track your volunteer hours. You can do that HERE.
Please have a great week and GO IRC!
