IRC offers coached and individual programs serving 300+ Indianapolis residents. Please check the calendar for course dates and offerings. All paperwork and waivers must be on file before club equipment may be used.
Juniors: A competitive high school program comprising 85 students from 13 area high schools. The juniors compete in fall and spring regattas throughout the Midwest. Open to any high-school student, no experience necessary. Link to more info on Junior program.
Masters: A program for post-collegiate scullers and rowers. Practice times are posted, and coaching is available, but participants are free to organize their own workouts.
Learn to Row: A half-day introduction to the sport of rowing including sculling and sweep rowing, and a brief overview of the sport. Club membership is not a pre-requisite to enroll in this course. Click on this link
Intermediate Rowing: Organized, coached program for new rowers who have completed learn to row. These twice per week, four-week long, programs are offered monthly April- August. Participants learn the basics of rowing in sweep boats with the goal of joining the masters program upon completion. Cost of the course is applicable to club membership dues.
Learn to Scull and Private Lessons: Available to club members and those who would like more one-on-one experience in small boats. Contact the director for more information.
Collegiate Summer Program: Membership geared for current collegiate rowers looking to improve their technique and fitness over summer break.
Team Indy: Summer league for local corporations. Participants receive coaching in preparation for an end-of-summer race.
Community Outreach: IRC provides opportunities for private camps, high-school summer physical education programs, and area business to row for a day. If you are interested in bringing rowing to your school or organization, please contact Bernadette Teeley.
