Indianapolis Rowing Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development of youth and adults of all social and economic backgrounds through rowing by providing facilities, education and programs.

The 2008 Indianapolis Collegiate Regatta, sponsored by Brightpoint, was held April 26, 2008. Twelve universities competed in the heats and finals format. The event ran efficiently and on time. Thank you to the many volunteers who made the day go so smoothly. Special thanks to Jody Pope, Bill O Donnell and Shawn Dresser for their pre-race organization and on-site leadership. Thank you, too, to all competitors and coaches.

Congratulations to Overall Team Point Winner: Purdue University Crew

A HUGE THANK YOU, to all of those members - Masters, Parents, Juniors and Friends who donned their gloves and boots last Saturday morning and afternoon to give the Boathouse a thorough Spring Cleaning! Leaves, dirt, debris, trash, and many mysterious items were cleansed from the floors and corners of the boathouse and truly, it looks great! It is amazing what the hands of many can accomplish. Your time, efforts, and energies were all greatly appreciated!

Warmly, the Boosters

Attention Junior Rowers

The Culver Parents Day Regatta on April 26th was cancelled due to weather. The next junior race is the Indianapolis High School Invitational to be held May 4th at Eagle Creek Park. The coaches and coxswains meeting is at 10 AM. Racing begins at 11. IRC will race Culver and Louisville.

Practice is held daily 4-6pm at the Boathouse. The ergs have been moved from the Monon Community Fitness Center to the Boathouse, so even on rainy days we will be able to practice at Eagle Creek.

Please note that if the temperatures are safe, and the sky is lightening free, we will most likely be rowing on the water. While it may be rainy, the rowing conditions have been pretty good - flat water and little wind. Please dress accordingly.

As we move into the regatta season check the Junior Booster page for travel information and helpful hints!

The only community rowing Center in Indianapolis is located inside beautiful Eagle Creek Park. Eagle Creek Reservoir is an ideal rowing venue. The Indianapolis Rowing Center (IRC) has more than 40 boats for club use and storage space for members' rowing shells.

The 2,000-meter course on Eagle Creek Reservoir was the site of the 1994 World Rowing championships and has hosted the US Rowing National Championship Regatta 13 times since 1987. The Indianapolis Rowing Center also hosts high-school and collegiate regattas in the spring and the Head of the Eagle each October.

The IRC has a program for every age and level of experience.  From learn how to row class to a competitive high-school program to rowing by active masters, there is a place for everyone at IRC.
