IRC Wins Two National titles Indianapolis Rowing Center (IRC) boats won national titles in the men’s intermediate single scull and men’s intermediate double scull events at the US Club Nationals held July 15-19 in Oak Ridge.
The duo of Patrick Close, 24 and Herbey Zepeda, 34 both of Indianapolis, posted the fastest times in the heats and semis before holding off a strong sprint by Vesper Boat Club, Philadelphia in the finals. They won with a time of 6:58.7, 2 seconds faster than second place.
Patrick Close won the men’s intermediate single scull event with a time of 7:29.2, despite his seat losing a wheel in the first 500 meters of the 2000 meter race.
Emma Preuschl Named to USA Adaptive 4+ Emma Preuschl will compete for the USA in Poznan, Poland at the Adaptive World Championships August 21-31, 2009. Preuschl will compete in the USA Adaptive four-oared shell with coxswain (4+). She won a silver medal in the 4+ at the Beijing Paralympics.

Learn to row classes IRC offers a wide range of classes for adults and families. Classes begin at the end of April, and continue through September. All classes are offered based on registration. IRC will schedule private lessons and group outings as well. See the program page and calendar for more information.

IRC Masters The masters practice T/TH at 6pm and Saturdays at 9am.
